Avast Product’s include very large database containing many virus formats. This database helps avast to detect and delete any
virus from your computer as quickly as possible. But in some cases avast start’s detecting your trusted software’s as virus and delete them. In that case you have to
add exception in avast for that
software or
Website. These exception’s help’s you to
Whitelist a program in avast product. In this article We will teach you How to whitelist a program in avast for the software you trust.
You can also
Disable avast temporarily during software installation to avoid it deleting your software. But After whit-listing your software, Avast will stop deleting your trusted software Programs forever. White-listing program’s is better then
uninstalling avast for that software you love. But Before adding any program into
exception list i recommend you to download your software’s only from trusted sources. You can also scan your program with other security software’s to make sure that they are completely safe.
Steps, How to Whitelist a Program in avast.

You can follow below step’s to add exception in avast to whitelist any software or Website.
- Open Your Avast product. (e.g. Avast internet security, Avast premier or Avast antivirus.)
- Click Menu > “Settings” and then go to the “General” tab.
- Now Click “Exclusions”. If you want to Whitelist a Program (Software), Select “File Paths” tab. But If you want to whitelist a url (Website), Select Urls Tab.
- In case you want to to Whitelist a program, Add Path to program that you want to Whitelist. You can also add any website into the Exception list from under the Urls tab. In case you want to Whitelist a whole directory you can simply add /* after the directory url.
