Hi, myself Muhammad Saqlain- admin of blog ‘PC Tricks Club’, here Im sharing my story that how I migrated my blog from blogger to WordPress. Some people think migration process is easy on finger tips but it is not as easy as thought. If a person has already started his blog through WordPress than it might be easy for him to understand WordPress but a person who has just now migrated to WordPress may feel lot of difficulty in the beginning using WordPress because blogger is different platform and WordPress is totally different platform. Here Im sharing my experience that how I have started blogging and later on how I created blog and finally moved to WordPress with blog.

How I started Blogging – My Journey

I was a keen learner in the starting, I was interested to learn lot of PC Tricks, mobile tricks online through blogs, specially my area of interest was making money online, one fine day I realized that money can be made online also. I joined some PTC Sites (sites which pay for clicking their advertisements) but realized that it took almost 8 months for me to earn $8 but I was happy that I have received the payment and now I was sure that really money can be made online. That time I have started a blog in 2013 named ‘PC Tricks Club’ on blogger, I googled to learn ‘how to crate blog on blogger’ than started my blog.

In the beginning of starting of the blog, I use to re-design my blog number of times so that I would look prettier but never noticed about the SEO, even at at that time I was un-aware of the ‘Search Engine Optimization’ but later on I started writing articles on blogspot blog and started promoting on social media. Later on I was observing the other blogs design etc and than tried to get some codes to make the blog look like them but at last I came to knew about ‘Blogger Templates’, than I finally downloaded a free template and uploaded to the blog, after that I came to knew about the copyright issues etc so started writing my own articles but that was not so quality one articles, later I realized that I need a pretty domain name for my blog (and to earn money from adsense also). I was using Advertiser Ad Network but it didn’t earned me anything. Finally purchased the domain name ‘pctricksclub.com’ from Bigrock domains.

It took me over a week to understand how the domain name can be replaced by the blogspot domain name, finally I replaced the blogspot with my new domain name and learn some tips about writing articles from Google. Now I have applied for Google Adsense to earn money online and Google didn’t approved my website due to lack of information like ‘Contact Us’ page etc but after a month I have again applied for ‘Adsense’ by completing my blog and they have approved my blog.At that time I was so happy that adsense has accepted my blog but twist came when I started earning, I was having blog without SEO, so the main source of traffic was Facebook but daily page views were so less and I didn’t knew about the adsense policies and CTR limit etc. Finally I was banned by Adsense for high CTR and some invalid clicks etc. I felt broken for some time but realized that I should have read all their Terms and Conditions.

Left Blogging and Re-Started Blogging

I also applied to ‘Infolinks Ad Network’ but revenue was very less. In the same case I was blocked for more than 4 times by Adsense and left blogging in 2014 and didn’t renewed the domain also, and now Im shocked to see that the price of the domain is $2295 (Almost Rs. 1,48,647 INR) being sold on ‘Huge Domains’. But in the starting year of 2015 me with my friend decided to start a blog that too a ‘multi niche blog’ and we have successfully started a blog named ‘All India Word’ on Blogger platform.

As we were new to the blogging that time one of my friend name ‘Rabin Mistri’ helped me learn some SEO and tips about blogging. And we have written Quality posts with which complies with adsense policies and than we also get approved for Adsense, It took lot of time to get the first payment but I have received the first payment from ‘Google Adsense’ which was a great achievement for me.

Why I was Dis-Appointed from Blogging?

The main reason for dis appointing is me and my friend use to write articles for this (All India Word) blog from the beginning of blog (me and him together started the blog) but my friend left me in between showing no interest in blogging and some some baseless reasons. Later on I realized that the one who can make your blog is only You! So Started the journey and started writing posts by myself only. And another friend helped me in article writing, he has also contributed as an author of the blog.

How My Blog ‘PC Tricks Club’ Was Stolen?

Later, after losing that pcricksclub.com domain I have purchased pctricksclub.net domain. I was unable to maintain two blogs at a time and I decided to sell my blog, I posted ads to sell my blog in Facebook groups and one person contacted me for selling of blog, he offered me $100 and deal was made. He told me give my Gmail ID & password but I refused because I was not sure that he will pay after taking my ID and password so we made a deal that I will make him the admin of the blog and than he will pay me and than I will give ‘Domain details’ to him so that he can have full access over domain and blog. He also promised me that he will pay me after he gets the admin access to the blog but as soon as I gave full access to the blog he has blocked me and went away.

How I migrated to WordPress?

Later on I purchased hosting from good hosting provider and started ‘PC Tricks Club’ on WordPress, as was new about WordPress my friend ‘Rabin Mistri’ helped me to migrate to WordPress and finally I was moved to WordPress platform. Using ‘Google URL Removal Tool’, I removed all expired URL’s of the blog and using ‘Archive Way Back Machine’ copied all my articles and saved it to publish when ever necessary. I will write another post explain the experience of migration from Blogger to WordPress but in short I can tell that WordPress is the best platform for a good blog. It have everything in built and have plugins for each and everything. No need to do anything manually, the plugins will do it for you. And WordPress SEO is also good when compared to the blogger.

Final Words and Conclusion:

Never trust any one blindly as blind trust made my lost my blog but I’m happy that I’ve moved to WordPress. Never be dependent on any one for your blog, be independent and work independent and if you are doing work with your friends than keep friendship aside with your work (this is jut my personal experience) and be frank about revenue share with your friends if you are working with them because later on this may cause problems to you. Finally I would say that never be proudish your life and try to help everyone who needs your help for good cause. Soon I will write another article explaining the experience of migrating from Blogger to WordPress.
